How does External Wall Insulation work?
There are several types of insulation products that are attached to the outside of the property. These include expanded polystyrene (EPS), mineral wool, phenolic resin (K5) and Woodfibre. EPS is the most popular option as it’s cost-effective and easy to install.
Following the install of the insulation, the walls are normally finished in a weather-resistant, decorative render that comes in a variety of shades and finishes from pebbledash to a brick-effect design. Other available finishing options include composite cladding and brick slips.
